Idaho Bound!

So this week we went to Mountain Home, Idaho to trade in our truck for a new one. We leave Nevada with no plans at all and hope to find a hotel room that night. We get past Elko and there is non-stop construction the whole way so a 5 hour drive takes us 8 hours!! We finally get there late afternoon and while Greg is test driving almost every vehicle on the lot, I pull up internet on my phone and search for hotels, well just our luck there is some activity going on in the 3 surrounding towns and there is not ONE hotel that is not fully booked under $150. So after we buy the truck, we head back to Twin Falls and hope there's better luck there and luckily we got the last room at the last hotel in town! We were really close to camping out in the new truck, or just coming home!

The next morning we head home and stop in Elko because Greg has to see the new movie The Green Lantern, while we're in town. During the movie, Dominic decides to talk which makes the guys behind us mad so in turn they start kicking our chairs. Dominic wasn't being loud at all, I barely heard him but they didn't want any disruptions. We ended up changing seats so I could get up and bail if I needed to. After the movie we went grocery shopping and headed home to find the house over 85* and the cat inside. The air kicked over to heat and had been blowing hot air all day. We felt bad and took the time to wet the cat down to cool her off then get the house cooled off. So now I have a screaming cat because we left her, a screaming hungry, cranky, tired, jet lagged baby, a husband on the roof with no ladder and jumping off every couple minutes. I'm hurrying to make Dominic's bottle, trying to put cold stuff away before it overheats in this house, worrying about Greg and I just about lose it while I think to myself, "Why did I want this??" And this is exactly why....

I woke up to this beautiful smile yesterday morning in the hotel room. He is always so happy when he first wakes up.

A very loving cat who thrives from attention from us

Then I come into the room seeing this, this morning. Dominic and Daddy bonding.
This is exactly why I love being a stay at home mom and having the beautiful family that I do...for the moments like these!

So now here are pictures from our adventures the last two days. And yes one includes coming across an old phone booth!

It even has a phone book haha

The new truck

We now have room to put Dominic in the middle seat instead of the sides

This is Dominic today watching Daddy play a game

The father's day gift from my parents. Guitar Hero

Today Dominic had sweet potatoes! He sucked them down, he loved them so much. That was Greg's favorite vegetable as a baby too.

Yesterday he got to be a big boy in the cart. He was so proud and did really well throughout the whole store.

The next photos are just ones from this week, not connected with the Idaho trip.

He was helping me bake cookies. Putting his special ingredient in lol

The first video we're playing peek-a-boo. And the second is of his sweet potato experience
