Baby Dominic Wayne

I am finally updating my blog about our family. Here is pictures from the birth of Dominic. He was born January 29, 2011 at 3:57 PM, 6 pounds 12 oz 19 1/2 in. long. We went into the hospital the night of January 27th to be induced fully expecting him to come Friday. We had lots of family and friends attend and wait the 3 days for him to arrive. We tried two days of induction medicine when it finally worked. All night the night before, I was up vomiting so I knew hard labor was on its way. Then things sped up and was only in hard labor for 6 hours when he was born. We had lots of exciting events in the hospital when the fire alarm when off our first morning there and almost had to be evacuated and the nurse had JUST put in my IV. Here are some pictures.

We had Grandma and Grandpa Schlafke, Grandma and Grandpa Barney, Butch and Judy, Dennis and Cindy, and David Sanchez. We have pictures with everybody and will post them later :)

Hobbies....

This year I've decided to make Christmas cards for Greg's side of the family(maybe as I get quicker, next year I'll be able to make them for everybody!) This is how they turned out:

This one was made for Greg's parents who live in AZ. I also made a duplicate of this one for my Grandma. This one is a special one and one that I'm definitely proud of most.

ALSO...In our month of hobbies, Greg has picked up a new hobbie of flying remote control powered helicopters. All I've got so far are videos of this fun little (that the animals also love to chase) but hopefully soon I'll pictures. He's got a new one coming in the mail as we speak, that I must say is much BIGGER and much more fun I assume.

Starting out

Well I'm trying out this new blogging stuff. My cousin Lisa has one and I think it's so cute! So why not I try?

Well I married my husband Greg on July 29, 2006. At the time we lived in Bagdad, AZ and Greg worked for the mine there and I started training as a dental assistant at a small dental office. We then moved to Safford, AZ in February 2008 and transferred down to the new mine here. I hired on with the mine here in Safford in September and was just recently affected by the recent layoffs. Greg was thankfully not affected because he has been with the company for 5 years.

We just found out that there will be another layoff at the beginning of January and that the company is reducing each mining site to 50%! That means much more people laid off than expected. Which means Greg may be affected. Our current plan is to go to Colorado with Greg's family and start over there and get out of mining altogether. This has been a very stressful and tense process. All we can do is hope and pray everything works out peacefully especially around this time of year. :-)
